Position for Ocean Freight Manager
We are looking for an experience Ocean freight manager to lead the commercial growth of our client’s business in Kenya.We want you to seek out new business opportunities whilst identifying opportunities for growth within existing clients and develop corresponding strategic marketing plans. Ideally from a vessel operating company background.
- Monitor and manage Team results (monitoring Pipeline) and take appropriate action where required.
- Develop relationship with all major carriers and secure best rates for exports.
- Supervise quotes and handle team / customer requests.
- Visit Customers and maintain and grow relationship.
- Responsible for reporting on financial performance of Team and Market intelligence.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in a related field
- Proficiency in English
- Computer Proficiency: MS office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
- Possession of proven business networks.
- Must have excellent organisational and planning skills
- Must be able to work well in multicultural environment
- Must have excellent analytical and research skills
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within a similar position
- Must be familiar with seafreight both imports and exports
- Solid knowledge of freight forwarding
- Strong operational understanding of cargo movements via sea
