Job Title: Technical Consultant – Sales
Kenya (East Africa)
Reporting To: Account Manager: Sub-Saharan Africa
Company Profile: Our client is the technology leader that designs and manufactures the electronic connectors, components and systems making them smarter, safer, greener and more connected.

Statement of Responsibility: The main responsibility for this role is to take ownership for the technical roadmap and strategy for East Africa and to implement it. It will be to establish the company’s presence in these territories as a market leader to help build the company brand as a dominant player and relied upon technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • The product mix, pricing and margins according to the stipulated the company guidelines. 
  • To maintain and develop existing and new end-customers through the appropriate propositioning and ethical sales methods. 
  • A high level of service to ensure the delivery of the expected levels of customer satisfaction. 
  • Internal liaison and relationships within the company departments is also a key to success. 
  • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems (e.g. Salesforce.com) and update relevant information held in these systems. 
  • Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g. product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing. 
  • Respond to and follow-up sales enquiries using appropriate methods. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information. 
  • Record, analyse, report and administer according to systems & requirements. 
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships. 
  • Attend and present at external customer and partner and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development. 
  • Attend training and develop relevant personal knowledge, techniques & skills. 
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, and other requirements relating to the care of equipment.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Degree holder in Sales, Marketing or Engineering from a recognized university. 
  • 5 years work experience in a related role i.e. sales, business development, account management, channel management, pre-sales and/or technical consultant... in the Telecoms and/or related ICT sector. 
  • Existing industry relationships within these countries is required. 
  • Specific product knowledge of Frames, Closures, Fibre Guide Systems, Cabinets, FTTX and Copper is preferable.
