Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Communications Officer
The main role:
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Proposes and agrees with management a CSR strategy and plan aligned with the Bayer’s global policy and the local needs of the society in East Africa.
- Identifies potential partners in the NGO sector. Takes care of the execution of the CSR plan according the corporate compliance frame.
Public Relations
- Establish a corporate communications plan and ensure timely execution of all agreed activities.
- Specific responsibilities to include:
- Stakeholder relations: Develops a network of key stakeholder contacts relevant to Bayer and maintains relations to create a favourable environment for the growth of the business;
Media Relations
- Proposes and agrees with management a Media Communication plan for the company.
- Maintains relationships with media according to the plan and ensures proper communication on Bayers’s side, according to the Company’s key message database.
- Organizes events such as media briefs, meetings with media, and implements the media relations activities (media articles, interviews, pitches);
Written / Broadcast Communication
- Writes speeches, press releases, press materials of any kind, produces publications and develops written materials on behalf of Bayer in order to enhance positive media coverage for the company.
- Produces videos, photo shooting, outdoor or indoor advertising, for internal and external audiences according to the agreed activity plan.
Online Communication
- Manages Bayer online communication through content production as well as through the management of the programming in partnership with Bayers service providers;
Internal Communications
- Communicates with internal audiences in relation to Bayer business activities according to the company’s Corporate Communications strategy and activity plan;
- Support in crisis communication.
The profile:
- University degree in Journalism, Communications or related studies;
- At least 5 years’ experience in working in the area of CSR, corporate communications or/and NGO sector;
- Very good PC literacy: MS Office and Internet;
- Proven experience in project management;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English;
- Fluent in English;
- Very good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Team player.
