This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager, EABL
Context/Scope
EABL is the only fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa and is the largest business unit in Diageo Africa covering the Eastern Africa region with a growing exports business into the UK, USA & Australia. EABL accounts for around 33% of Diageo Africa trading profit. The International business is particularly complex, as it operates across a number of different geographies comprising a number of uniquely different commercial operations, (including local supply, third party supply, duty free, exports, spirits and beer).
Market Complexity
Establish superior customer service delivery, on time in full, across multiple geographies. Agile and reverse logistics are very critical. Stock forms the current assets of the business ensuring continuous income and enabling investments and re-investments in the region. This therefore requires careful, excellent and accurate planning and proper reporting and forecasting. The tracking and reporting mechanism, which analyses stock of finished goods through the supply chain and sales dynamics are also critical to support business growth.
Purpose of the Role
- Management of finished goods stocks, haulage distribution services and other contracted services
- Act as the focal point between demand and supply in ensuring supply continuity and pro-actively mitigate against potential stock outs by ensuring Exports are available at all times.
- Managing the haulers / customers by arranging supplies.
- Facilitate the ordering process, loading and cash clearance with the finance team and logistics team.
- Streamline stocks management and controls procedures to ensure quality and safety of inventory.
- Ensure safety regulations are adhered.
Top Accountabilities
- Ensure inventory management and controls for beer and spirits are in place.
- Provide a logistics management capability for the rollout of supply chain and Logistics improvement initiatives with coordination across the markets in conjunction with country managers.
- Manage loading of finished goods to distribution efficiently without any product loss.
- Responsible for the management of the 3PLs and accountable for their performance management against pre-determined KPIs.
- Ensure proper planning to ensure efficient and continuous supply from production, inbound and outbound logistics.
- Analyse storage and key constraints to create a realistic storage and distribution channel.
- Raise and post POs for stock transfers across intercompany business from markets
- To coordinate with finance team on order clearance, credit management and facilities, discount etc.
- Coordinate with the clearing agents and KRA team on ensuring stock delivery across boarders are adhered to, to prevent dumping and illegal trade.
- Coordinate with planning / production / marketing team to ensure product availability on right order, right price, right quantity, right time and right packaging are all in place.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure loading of the product, offloading of empties are done accordingly for both customers and Southern Sudan as an entity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Business related degree. Qualifications in Supply Chain Management would be desirable. Minimum 2 years experience in supply chain management with working knowledge of SAP, preferably gained in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Capacity Resource Planning and Requirements Planning.
- Strong problem solving ability and demonstrable experince in follow up and follow through
- Self confidence and ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
