ICT Security Officer Job in Kenya - KCAA

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Transport established under the Civil Aviation Act 2013 ‘to develop, regulate and manage a safe, efficient and effective Civil Aviation System in Kenya’ 

KCAA is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following positions in the establishment:

Job Title: ICT Security Officer

Ref No: ICT/03/14
Department / Section: ICT
Reports To: Manager ICT
Job Purpose: To initiate, plan and implement appropriate ICT security measures for the Authority

Scope of work / duties / responsibilities

  • Carries out ICT security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on business systems and LAN/WAN networks
  • Formulates and oversees implementation of Information security policies, standards and procedures
  • Ensures confidentiality and optimum security of KCAA electronic data, records and information all the time.
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors on appropriate ICT security audits
  • Ensures regular updates from all threats to systems implemented in KCAA
  • Design and build security procedures in new and existing systems and networks
  • Sensitizes and advisers management and other users on ICT Security issues.
  • Plan and coordinate intergration of security standards, processes and tools into day-to-day ICT operational activities including software development life-cycle, change management, and technical monitoring.
  • Coordinate/perform application vulnerability assessments, code reviews, and assessment of SDLC processes and incorporate lessons learned into security awareness material and coordinate local security awareness activities.
  • Any other official duty assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from a recognized university
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certificate of good conduct

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in ICT system security
  • Knowledge and skills
  • Current knowledge on emerging ICT security threats and mitigation measures
  • Proven integrity and accountability in the management of information
  • Communication and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
