Reporting to the Senior Manager – IT Networks Infrastructure, the job holder will provide technical expertise and support to Safaricom in the field of local and wide area network administration and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all active and non-active network components;
  • Advise on the communication requirements of installed and planned networked information systems and carry out surveys to establish network connection requirements;
  • Implement and maintain system standards and procedures on network related issues;
  • Review the network traffic, performance and quality of service provided by the network;
  • Collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and create reports as required;
  • Specify and deploy enterprise network both for voice and non-voice and wiring;
  • Liaise with other departments to deliver cross team projects and harmonized IT operations;
  • Install, configure and upgrade the internal network and data center infrastructure for effective use;
  • Monitor, administer and maintain network security;
  • Use network management tools to investigate, diagnose and resolve network problems within service level agreements;
  • Conduct proper documentation and inventory of the network hardware and software.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Mathematics / physics
  • CCNP/CCIP and CCSE/CCSP are desired certification qualifications;
  • WAN/LAN interconnect working experience;
  • 5 years of experience managing a network of 3000+ users;
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS and proficiency in a wide range of networking LAN/WAN products and technologies including but not limited MPLS, MPLS VPN etc;
  • Attention to details and analytical thinking;
  • Good communication and project management skills.

This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager, EABL

Context/Scope

EABL is the only fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa and is the largest business unit in Diageo Africa covering the Eastern Africa region with a growing exports business into the UK, USA & Australia. EABL accounts for around 33% of Diageo Africa trading profit. The International business is particularly complex, as it operates across a number of different geographies comprising a number of uniquely different commercial operations, (including local supply, third party supply, duty free, exports, spirits and beer).

Market Complexity

Establish superior customer service delivery, on time in full, across multiple geographies. Agile and reverse logistics are very critical. Stock forms the current assets of the business ensuring continuous income and enabling investments and re-investments in the region. This therefore requires careful, excellent and accurate planning and proper reporting and forecasting. The tracking and reporting mechanism, which analyses stock of finished goods through the supply chain and sales dynamics are also critical to support business growth.

Purpose of the Role

  • Management of finished goods stocks, haulage distribution services and other contracted services
  • Act as the focal point between demand and supply in ensuring supply continuity and pro-actively mitigate against potential stock outs by ensuring Exports are available at all times.
  • Managing the haulers / customers by arranging supplies.
  • Facilitate the ordering process, loading and cash clearance with the finance team and logistics team.

The Hospital Nurse is directly responsible to the Hospital Matron and will carry out the following duties:

Programming

  • The clinical nurse shall work in specific ward/clinic assigned to and would therefore work as both supervisor and team leader of the refugee staff.
  • Prepare for and assist the doctors during the rounds and whenever required.
  • Ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment and procedures are properly carried out and documented on patient’s charts.
  • Refer to the doctor in charge or to the doctor/CO on call relevant information such as patient’s status and laboratory results, which would assist in proper clinical management.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living while in the ward.
  • Arrange and submit weekly ward work schedule and plan daily duties and responsibilities for each refugee staff.
  • Convene ward meeting and attend monthly hospital meetings.
  • Escort patient to other referral hospital when necessary.
  •  Do hospital coverage and on-call as required.
  • in camp health surveys/campaigns.

Reporting and communication

  • Compile and submit quarterly inventory return/requisition of all drugs and supplies.
  • Conduct regular training session for refugee staff on basic nursing care/management of various ward cases and charting.
  • Give health education to patients and clients
  • Compile and submit monthly reports.
  • Monitor and supervise proper usage of supplies.

Operations

  • Maintain equipments in good condition and submit regular inventory report of the same.
  • Maintain drug registers and drug consumption within the ward level.
  • Ensure that all admissions, discharges, transfers and deaths are properly recorded as they occur.
  • Report any significant changes in operations to the hospital matron.
  • Carry out any other additional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Job Purpose/Objective
The Safe Programming Officer will be the focal point for IRC’s Safe Programming initiative in Hagadera camp. With technical support from the Governance and Rights Coordinator and the HQ-based Governance and Rights Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing the Safe Programming efforts in Hagadera refugee camp and ensuring that the goals and objectives of the project are met. He/She will provide technical oversight to the field-based staff specifically on the incorporation of protection principles into all of the IRC’s and other participating agencies’ programs. The position reports to the Field Coordinator. He or she will specifically be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

A. Program Management

  • Provide leadership in protection mainstreaming in the camp, both for IRC and participating agencies
  • Provide ongoing leadership, training, and guidance to staff (including refugee incentive staff) to ensure programming meets best practice standards and prioritizes the needs of beneficiaries.
  • Actively participate in the designing of Safe programming assessments including conducting of the assessment, data analysis and report writing.
  • Undertake development and implementation of work plans emanating from findings of the safe programming assessments.
  • Actively participate in coordination of protection advisory committee meetings and events
  • Ensure representation of protection mainstreaming in key forums such as coordination meetings in the camp as an opportunity to advocate for protection principles.
  • Ensure adequate project monitoring systems are in place and staff are using the same.
  • Track the project budget utilization in line with IRC policies and practices.
  • Ensure that all opportunities for protection mainstreaming are utilized including proper coordination with the grants team to ensure proper coverage of protection mainstreaming in all proposal development opportunities.
  • Liaising with IRC safe programming officers in other projects sites to ensure information sharing and increase opportunities of creativity and protection mainstreaming

B. Staff and Community Capacity Building

  • Design and implement staff training plans for national team members and refugee incentive staff in the camp for both IRC and other participating agencies.
  • Oversee/ conduct trainings on safe programming for community leaders and service providers
  • Collaborate with all team managers in IRC and participating agencies in to ensure that staff are well trained on safe programming.
  • Actively input in the design of training manuals for safe programming with reference to context and relevance to field site.

C. Finance and Grants Management

Ensure robust and diligent budget management through preparation and implementation of spending, procurement and staffing plans for the RH, TB and HIV grants,
Representation in key grants meetings (grants opening, budget vs. actual review and grants closure meetings and
Participation in proposal development and donor reports writing.

D. Communication and Reporting

  • Keep the Field coordinator and Governance and Rights Coordinator informed of all developments and issues through regular situation reports.
  • Ensure that all internal and donor reporting requirements are met and that reports are of a high quality and submitted on time.

E. Supervision & Leadership

  • Provide technical and /or administrative supervision to refugee staff in the Safe Programming Department.
  • Identify staffing/capacity gaps and recommend to the field coordinator appropriate remedial action.
  • Provide mentorship to field based program staff.

F. Coordination and Networking

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders- including community leaders, NGOs, UN agencies, and other IRC team members to enhance multi-agency and multi sectoral cooperation and coordination.
  • Participate in the camp level working group meetings that relate to safe programming and as relevant at the national level.
  • Create forums that encourage coordination including increasing opportunities for the protection advisory committee to meet and brainstorm on improving protection mainstreaming in the camps.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Law or social sciences
  • At least 3 years program experience, including mainstreaming in a humanitarian context with protection focus
  • Knowledge of inter/national legal and or policy frameworks relating to refugees strongly desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and building implementing coalitions of multiple agencies desirable.
  • Community mobilization and capacity building experience desirable
